Visit us

The San Carlos Institute is in the heart of Key West at 516 Duval Street, between Fleming and Southard.

A visit to the San Carlos will take you back to the late 1800s. You will feel the legacy that Varela, de Céspedes, Martí, Maceo, García and many other patriots left us.

Bring your children and grandchildren to marvel at the beauty of the building's architecture and to experience Cuba's proud heritage.

What you'll see

The exhibit rooms include "The Life and Works of José Martí," portraits of Cuba's constitutional presidents, and statues of Martí and Father Félix Varela in the lobby. Don't miss the marble stairway, the hand-painted tiles, and the historic theater.
